Frequently Asked Questions about Environmental Profile
Does Rinskor™ active persist in the environment?
Since Rinskor rapidly degrades in soil, water, and plant tissue, there’s no persistence in the environment. This is expected to result in fewer restrictions due to a favorable environmental and toxicological profile. In turn, growers will have the freedom to effectively manage crops and make cultivation decisions while preserving the environment and keeping fields productive for longer periods of time.
Does Rinskor have any impact on animals, such as fish, bees and birds?
Rinskor is practically nontoxic to terrestrial and aquatic animals at the use rates recommended in rice. Rinskor shows toxicity only on susceptible plants. The product was granted Reduced Risk Pesticide Designation by USEPA on rice and aquatics uses because of its excellent human health and environmental profile.
How quickly does Rinskor degrade in water & soil?
Rinskor is a herbicide that is applied at low use rates. The persistence of the product in soil is moderate and short in water. Once the product is applied, it quickly dissipates and degrades in soil and water into metabolites that have no biological activity at the levels detected in the environment.
